Autogestión, un proceso clave para el paciente reumático

Resumen

Las enfermedades reumáticas autoinmunes constituyen un grupo de enfermedades crónicas poco comunes que pueden conducir a discapacidad, altos costos en salud y morbimortalidad. El lupus eritematoso sistémico (LES) es el prototipo de enfermedad autoinmune sistémica en donde el objetivo terapéutico primordial es la remisión, que constituye una meta deseable, pero no siempre alcanzable. Deben existir tres condiciones para que se puedan lograr los objetivos terapéuticos en el LES, en primer lugar, un diagnóstico temprano, segundo, recibir tratamiento oportunamente y tercero que el paciente se sepa autogestionar para llevar adelante su enfermedad.
